For our 2010/2011 season the Company will be staging 4 plays plus a pantomime. In addition, we have regular bookings from the local Amateur Operatic Society who stage two musicals productions each year. The theatre is also hired out to local dance schools, art groups and theatre companies.

ANAGRAM OF MURDER

A thriller by Seymour Matthews    Directed by Geoffrey Wildey 

This tense dramatic thriller contains plenty of twists to keep you guessing. Beautiful Veronica plots to murder her writer husband Gus but becomes alarmed when Gus discusses the plot of his new novel which is uncomfortably close to her murder plans. She presses ahead however but things do not run entirely smoothly. Next day the Police report the finding of a body – is it Gus? The final denouement contains several surprises before the guilty are brought to justice.

A traditional pantomime with all the well-loved characters, lots of singing and dancing, colourful costumes and plenty of audience participation. A show with something for all the family.

A comedy by Ray Cooney      Directed by Paula Smith 

The sequel to Run for your Wife finds our bigamist taxi driver, John Smith, still keeping both his families happy and blissfully unaware of each other. However, his teenage children have met on the Internet and are determined to see each other in person. When it dawns on John that they are about to meet he plunges into a hell-hole of his own making in order to keep them apart.

MURDER BY MISADVENTURE

A thriller by Edward Taylor     Directed by Don Beesley 

Laughs, thrills and mind-boggling twists abound in this ingenious thriller. Despite their  success as authors of TV thrillers, Harold Kent has become dissatisfied with his writing partner and wants to dissolve their association. So he takes inspiration from one of their scripts. The play has a last scene denouement which turns every available table until you are left giddy with bewilderment.

HALL IN TIME FOR THE TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD’S COFFEE MORNING

A comedy by David Mc Gillivray & Walter Zerlin Jnr       Directed by Louise Allison

Every drama group has experienced the horrors of what can go wrong on the night and with the Farndale ladies everything that can go wrong certainly does! Another dizzy array of characters from the members of the Townswomen’s Guild ladies and their long-suffering stage manager Gordon as they attempt lift-off with their dramatic society’s unique production of this sci-fi thriller that will have the hysterical audience on the edge of their seats.
